Home to over 30,000 people, the Town of North Andover on the Merrimac River covers almost 27 square miles and traces its roots to the 17th Century. Founded by Reverend Hohn Woodbridge in 1646 as Andover, North Andover was established on April 7, 1855, as the result of a disagreement over the location of church sites.
Today the site of the original dispute, North Parish Church, is a focal point in the town’s “Old Center” along with the Brick Store. The Downtown District hosts Town Hall as well as some religious and institutional uses, financial services companies, restaurants, and personal service businesses.
Committed to sustaining economic growth and attracting new businesses - small and large - North Andover provides a pro-business climate by ensuring a smooth permitting process. The natural beauty of the town also makes it a great place to live and work. In 2023, North Andover was identified by MoneyGeek.com as the 14th safest town in America.
