Rodney Sinclair is an experienced real estate professional with over 20 years of experience working in the Greater Boston area on projects of all sizes. Rodney’s career began in 2001 at the Boston Redevelopment Authority permitting small and large-scale real estate projects. He permitted over 40 real estate projects in all of Boston’s neighborhoods and was responsible for facilitating project teams through Boston’s Article 80 Design Review process. His most notable projects include 120 Kingston Street, Phase 6A of the Prudential Master Plan, the W Hotel, and the Jackson Square Master Plan, where he worked with key Boston and community leaders on the design and build-out of an 11-acre site.
Rodney left the BRA in 2009 to start Sinclair Development Solutions (SDS), a boutique consulting firm focusing on permitting and development solutions for homeowners, investors, developers, and contractors. At SDS, he consulted on over 60 neighborhood-based projects.
In 2016 Rodney was recruited to join the Real Estate Development department at Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), which owns over 600-acres in the Boston area and is most-widely known for developing the Seaport area, Seaport hotels, the World Trade Center, and Waterside Place I & II. Rodney led the development of a $140 million project at Massport Marine Terminal (MMT), a 45-acre site in South Boston’s Marine Industrial Park. His functions as Development Manager included land-use analyses, creation of request for proposals, design and permitting process facilitation, lease agreement transaction, and construction oversight.
Two years later, Rodney became Vice President of Construction & Development at Janey Construction Management overseeing the firm’s business development and external affairs department. He led the organization’s strategic planning initiatives and served on the executive management committee for the Commonwealth Revitalization Project, a $400 million renovation of Boston’s World Trade Center, where he was responsible for JANEY’s staffing, workflow and revenue interests.
A realtor since 2012, Rodney started Sinclair Real Estate Group in 2020 representing local buyers, sellers and investors. Rodney also consults with commercial developers on the planning and permitting of their real estate projects. Rodney holds a bachelor’s degree in human services from Springfield College. He is currently on the City of Beverly Planning Board and served as Board of Director for several local non-profits including Change is Simple and The United Way. Rodney, who currently lives in Beverly with his wife Diana, two sons Avery and Asher, and three dogs Scottie, Toby, and Sadie, loves spending time with his family and coaching sports.
